Ketchup’s Bank Glamping is a genuine Eco-retreat and is run completely on solar power with batteries that store power when there is no sun. All accomodation has regular power supply and powerpoints that can be used to charge devices however, high powered appliances that have heating or cooling elements (eg. hair dryers, heaters, electric kettles, portable fridges) could overload the system and cause a power outage if used at night or on cloudy days. Hopefully you won’t need these items though as the Eco-tents already have a fridge, T.V, BBQ and electric blanket which have all been selected with sustainable power consumption in mind. Baya Eco-retreat is also off grid, but has a fridge, gas cook top and an indoor fireplace to keep you toasty warm 🙂

There are many parks in the Scenic Rim and surrounding areas. Some are 15 minutes away others are around 45 minutes drive. Where did the name Ketchup's Bank Glamping come from?
You’re probably thinking, ‘What does this place have to do with sauce?’ Well the name actually pays tribute to its early settler history. During early Australian settlement this area was used by timber cutters and bullock teams. A team of forty bullocks would pull loads of timber up the steep bank which is now our driveway and the leader would yell “ketch-up, ketch-up!” to keep the drove moving and make sure they didn’t start getting pulled backwards. The steep hill has since become known as ‘Ketchup’s Bank.’ which the original owners fondly named the business after.
